Honest Review
By Robert (Recent Uni Grad)
Midsummer is a renewable energy wholesaler based near Cambridge with about 60-70 staff. They also build their own web apps (Easy PV and Heatpunk) which are pretty well regarded in the solar industry. The role is working on those tools, so you'd actually be building products that people use rather than internal tooling. The tech stack is a mix of PHP, Node.js, Python and Rust with some interesting 2D/3D graphical editor work. The salary is £38k which is decent for Cambridge, although It's not a tech company. It is a renewables distributor, so worth keeping that in mind.
